ABOUT LEAD

About the Program

Since 1995, the LEAD program has been the Los Altos region’s flagship civic leadership initiative, empowering leaders from Los Altos, Los Altos Hills, and surrounding communities.

In partnership with the City of Los Altos and the Los Altos Mountain View Community Foundation (LAMVCF), the Los Altos Chamber is honored to carry this legacy forward.

  • Connect with community and nonprofit leaders
  • Drive positive change in the region

What Participants Can Expect

  • Monthly interactive sessions, co‑led by expert civic leaders and actual public officials.
  • Hands‑on exploration of local government, nonprofits, schools, public safety, affordable housing, sustainability, and more
  • Networking opportunities with community stakeholders and program alumni

Program Benefits & Outcomes

Graduates emerge with:

  • A broadened understanding of regional civic and social issues
  • Practical leadership skills and expanded professional networks

Why It Matters

As the LEAD program enters a new era under the Los Altos Chamber of Commerce, we are proud to carry forward the strong foundation built by the Los Altos Mountain View Community Foundation. Guided by LAMVCF’s mission to “connect neighbors with opportunities to make lasting local impact,” we take seriously the responsibility of stewarding this next chapter. This is more than a leadership training — it’s an incubator for civic engagement, collaboration, and meaningful community change.
