Healthy Business Practices
As we enter into Phase 2 of reopening and Phase 3 is on the horizon, it is important to put practices into place now that will protect owners, employees and customers.Joining us to give advice on healthy business steps that can be put into place now is Cheryl Reinking.
Cheryl Reinking serves as the chief nursing officer for El Camino Health. She has served the hospital in progressive nursing leadership roles for the past 30 years.
Cheryl has served in numerous positions in her career including a clinical nurse, case manager, clinical manager, nursing director, and vice chief of clinical operations before becoming the enterprise Chief Nursing Officer in 2013. Cheryl also served as a clinical manager at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs, CO.
Cheryl has led numerous large projects including the activation of a new hospital tower in 2009, activation of a new E.H.R. (Epic) in 2015 and has been a key nursing leader in 4 consecutive Magnet designations at El Camino Health. Cheryl provides executive sponsorship of several enterprise-wide clinical improvement efforts including fall prevention, hospital-acquired infection prevention, hospital-acquired pressure ulcer prevention, and length of stay management. Cheryl is the executive leader for patient experience across the enterprise. Most recently, Cheryl led the COVID-19 pandemic incident command center.
Cheryl is a member of ANA, AONL, and ACNL. Cheryl also serves as the President of the Board of Directors at Pathways Home Health and Hospice. Cheryl has published several articles related to transitions of care and avoiding readmissions. Cheryl received the Silicon Valley Women of Influence Award in 2013 and the TWIN award in 2011. Cheryl will be completing a Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) in December 2020 at the University of San Francisco.
