CSMA presents Jazz Pianist Gerald Clayton
MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA – Community School of Music and Arts (CSMA) presents jazz pianist Gerald Clayton in concert on Saturday, December 3 at 7:30 pm in Tateuchi Hall. In addition, CSMA’s Merit Scholars perform their annual Holiday Concert on Saturday, December 10 at 5:00 pm. Doors open at 7:00 pm and seating is limited for both events.Six-time GRAMMY-nominated jazz pianist Gerald Clayton searches for honest expression in every note. He will perform his own compositions and those of the jazz greats. Clayton has collaborated with such distinctive artists as Diana Krall, Roy Hargrove, Terence Blanchard, John Scofield, Terri Lyne Carrington, Ambrose Akinmusire, Gretchen Parlato, Ben Wendel and legendary band leader Charles Lloyd. He currently serves as Director of Next Generation Jazz Orchestra and has served as Musical Director for the Monterey Jazz Festival. Over the years, Clayton’s playing and original works have received GRAMMY recognition for Best Improvised Jazz Solo, Best Jazz Instrumental Composition and Best Jazz Instrumental Album. On December 10, CSMA’s talented Merit Scholar Student Ensembles perform holiday favorites. These private lesson students have shown a high level of commitment, talent and achievement in their musical studies. They have been recommended by their private lesson teacher and selected by audition.
Seating for these concerts is first come, first served. No advanced tickets are available. Face masks are strongly recommended inside Tateuchi Hall. Performances in Tateuchi Hall are suitable for ages 7 and up. To ensure the best experience for all guests, children should be able to sit quietly during the performance (approx. one hour).
