Merit Scholars Mother’s Day Concert, Saturday, May 4
MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA – Community School of Music and Arts (CSMA) presents the annual Merit Scholars Mother’s Day Concert on Saturday, May 4 at 5:00pm. The performance will be held in Tateuchi Hall at the Community School of Music and Arts, located at 230 San Antonio Circle in Mountain View. This concert is free and open to the public. Seating is limited; please arrive early. Doors open at 4:30pm.
This annual event will feature CSMA’s Merit Scholar performers, ranging in age from 8 to 18 years old. Instruments include: piano, voice, violin, viola, flute, bassoon, trumpet and cello. Featured composers include Beethoven, Schumann, Brahms, Bach, Haydn and Andrew Lloyd Webber. Well-known pieces include the beautiful and haunting "Pie Jesu" by Andrew Lloyd Webber and "Time to Say Goodbye" by Francesco Sartori, featuring two of our graduating vocalists.
CSMA Merit Scholars are awarded scholarships based on a high level of commitment, talent and achievement in their music studies. Merit Scholars and their families are regarded as local ambassadors for the CSMA Music School and perform at events throughout the community.
This event is part of CSMA’s 2019 Community Concert Series. In keeping with CSMA’s mission to provide Arts for All, Community Concerts are free and open to the public. Located in Mountain View, CSMA provides unique music and visual arts programming and events for audiences of all ages and backgrounds. The Community Concert Series is supported by a generous grant from the Applied Materials Foundation. The official media sponsor for the series is Classical KDFC radio.
