A musician since age 3, John Baeg, now 15, was named Most Promising Young Talent, Best Bay Area Contestant, and first-prize winner at the 12th International Russian Music Piano Competition. He also won first prizes at the Menuhin-Dowling Piano Competition in San Francisco in 2011. After making his concerto debut with the El Camino Youth Symphony in 2012, John performed in Carnegie Hall as a gold-medal recipient in the American Association for Development of the Gifted and Talented Competition, and went on to make his solo debut recital in the Kumho Arts Prodigy Concert Series in Seoul, Korea. As a winner of the Julliard Concerto competition in 2015, John was invited to perform with the Juilliard Pre-college Symphony. Previously studying piano with Heidi Hau as a scholarship student at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, John now studies with Yoheved Kaplinsky, the chair of Juilliard’s piano department.
