THE 5TH ANNUAL MICHAEL BRANNAN MEMORIAL GOLF TOURNAMENT
AT LOS ALTOS GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB ON MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 11, 2017
TO BENEFIT GATEWAY FOR CANCER RESEARCH
LOS ALTOS, CA (August 10, 2017) – In honor of accomplished golfer Michael Brannan, former member of the U.S. Walker Cup team and two-time California State Amateur champion, the 5th Annual Michael Brannan Memorial Golf Tournament will be held on Monday, September 11, 2017 at Los Altos Golf and Country Club, 1560 Country Club Drive, to benefit the funding of kidney cancer clinical trials by Gateway for Cancer Research.
After being diagnosed with kidney cancer in May 2011, Michael Brannan continued playing in amateur events and won the 2012 NCGA Senior Championship. Along with being a loving husband, he was a devoted father to his two sons, Kyle of Cameron Park and Chase of San Francisco. He considered his sons the best accomplishment in his life.
“We are grateful to celebrate the life of my father through his passion and life-long contributions to the game of golf, while making a difference in the lives of cancer patients,” said Kyle Brannan, Michael’s oldest son and lead PGA Golf Professional at Los Altos Golf and Country Club. “Since the inception of the Michael Brannan Memorial Golf Tournament, we have raised more than $93,000 for clinical trials, and Gateway has since approved the funding of kidney/renal clinical trials bringing us closer to breakthroughs in research.”
The exclusive outing is an all-day event. A silent auction of fabulous items, including course playing packages at exclusive clubs, fine wine and sports memorabilia, will run throughout the day. The cocktail reception and dinner buffet also will include awards and a live auction.
The 5th Annual Michael Brannan Memorial Golf Tournament is hosted by a committee established by his wife Shelley, sons Kyle and Chase, and close friends.
Tickets for the 5th Annual Michael Brannan Memorial Golf are available to purchase as an individual golfer for $300 (as a pro-golfer at $200) or as a foursome for $1,200. Mike Reid, American Professional Golfer and Michael’s best friend, will provide private clinics to the first sponsors that sign up.
