LOS ALTOS
Downtown Los Altos is a unique blending of quaint and historic buildings with a friendly, small town atmosphere. The Downtown Community Plaza hosts events throughout the seasons and beautiful flowers can be found throughout the village. A six block triangle forms the heart of the business district.
More than 150 shops and boutiques offer an exceptional variety of merchandise. Well known for antiques, art galleries, home accessories, gifts and items for children, Los Altos is the perfect place for strolling along streets lined with Chinese Pistache trees. Other items found in the downtown include high style fashions, shoes, fine linens, china and kitchenware, furniture, unique children's toys, music and books, children's clothing, jewelry, cosmetics, prescription drugs, photography, stationery and cards, flowers and gifts in all sizes and shapes.
You can catch the aroma of fresh baked goods and fresh ground coffees in the coffee houses and coffee shops. Delicatessens offer sandwiches, salads and takeout foods. Popular restaurants featuring a variety of cuisines are interspersed among the downtown shops. Downtown Los Altos has many excellent service businesses such as hair salons, manicurists, beauty and health centers, barbershops, travel agents and veterinary hospitals. Two supermarkets downtown provide a full array of products.
Professional office space in downtown Los Altos includes law firms, physicians, chiropractic care, insurance companies, optometrists, dentists, accounting firms, title companies, builders and computer businesses. The town is also noted for a selection of financial institutions and real estate offices.
The Downtown Los Altos Farmers' Market is held every Thursday evening between 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM during the months of May through September. The market features locally grown, organic fruits and vegetables and specialty foods. All proceeds from this event benefit downtown maintenance and beautification.

El Camino
Real Corridor
Lined with "Los Altos-A Great Place To Be!" banners, the 2-1/2 mile stretch that is the Los Altos business corridor on El Camino Real provides a wide variety of goods and services. Court

Foothill Plaza
Foothill Plaza is located on Homestead Road near the intersection of Foothill Expressway and Interstate 280 at the border of the southernmost point of Los Altos and the community of Cupertino. The shopping center includes a beauty salon and spa, small businesses, child care, retail shops, a drug store, groceries and a service station.

Rancho
Shopping Center
Rancho Shopping Center has been known nationally by shopping center developers since the 1950's for its innovative architecture. Designed by Harold Johan Bakke and developed and built by Christian Wilder, Rancho was the first of a style, which became known for its informal setting, covered walkways, grass lawn and storefront parking.
Rancho features a market, restaurant, bakery, florist, dentist, auto service station, beauty and barber shops, chiropractor, parent-child play center, bagel restaurant, coffee and ice cream shops, computer learning center for children, real estate office, beauty center and spa, children’s clothing store, as well as women's clothing and fitness center. Banking and post office services are also available at Rancho Shopping Center.
Rancho merchants traditionally sponsor community events including, the Festival of Lights benefit “Rock Back the Clock.” Rancho's long-time slogan, "Large Enough to Serve You... Small Enough to Know You" fits this largest convenience shopping center in Los Altos.

Loyola
Corners
Located just off Foothill Expressway at Fremont and Miramonte Avenues, Loyola Corners offers a variety of retail stores, restaurants, service businesses and professional offices in a friendly, convenient neighborhood location. Ample free parking is available to shoppers in the central parking plaza, as well as along Fremont and Miramonte Avenues.
