Los Altos Library and Woodland Library are part of the Santa Clara County Library System. A computer catalog links the County Libraries with state of the art technology, including access to magazine articles, online access from home computers, internet access, and much more.

The Los Altos Main Library has 248,610 books, magazines, cassettes, CD's, videos, CD Roms and DVDs. Woodland has 49,158 books, magazines, videos and DVDs. Items not found in these libraries can be requested and delivered from any library.

Thanks to the passage of a local library tax override in 1990, the Main Library was completely remodeled and expanded (cost: 3 million dollars). This facility has 28,000 sq. ft., 230 seats, and special features such as a Program Room, Group Study Room, Community Information Center, art gallery wall, and the biggest Curious George in the area.

The Main Library is open Monday through Thursday from 10:00AM-9:00PM, Friday from 10:00AM-6:00PM, Saturday from 10:00AM-6:00PM, and Sunday from noon to 6:00PM. Woodland Branch Library is open Monday through Wednesday 1:00-8:00PM, and Thursday through Saturday 11:00AM-5:00PM.  Closed on Sunday.  Librarians are on duty at all hours to help you find whatever you are seeking.

Community Services Agency is one of the oldest nonprofit social service agencies in Santa Clara County. Serving the frail elderly, the disadvantaged and the homeless, CSA has been a community resource for nearly 50 years.

Programs for seniors include Senior Case Management and Senior Outreach which assist the at-risk elderly with health, financial and personal needs. Senior Nutrition provides a low-cost nutritious noon meal and social activities five days a week. Low income individuals and families in crisis may obtain food, limited emergency financial assistance and referrals from CSA's Emergency Assistance Program.  Services for children include shoes, back-to-school supplies and holiday toys and gifts.  Homeless adults are served through Alpha Omega Homeless Services.

CSA's mission is to promote independence and self-sufficiency through direct service, advocacy and referral. Clients' dignity and self-esteem are recognized as the most essential ingredients in sustaining a productive life-style.
